Lysonic Inks for Fine Art Printing
Lyson Lysonic ink offers extended archival qualities. Lysonic was originally designed of use on Iris “Giclee” printers for the reproduction of fine art work. So successful was Lyson’s Lysonic ink it quickly became the industry standard for the reproduction of art work using standard desk top and wide format printers. The life span for Lysonic inks is over 75 years, which considering that it is dye based is absolutely amazing. For the reproduction of fine art work Lysonic holds many advantages over conventional pigment based inks, it is able to create a depth of color and subtle tones that are unavailable with standard pigment based inks.
Usage for Screen Positives – Screen Printing
Lysonic ink as amazing UV absorbent properties making it ideally suited for the creation of high quality Screen Positives. When compared to conventional pigment based inks that are used for this purpose the differences are truly amazing, Lysonic ink is so effective at the reproduction of Screen Positives that users can even switch from using expensive Dry Film to the much cheaper Wet Film without any compromise on quality.
Before switching over to Lysonic ink from a pigment based ink it is very important to flush the system clear, on wide format printers it’s also a good idea to change the inexpensive dampers that sit on top of the print head, this is not really a complex procedure and ensures all traces of Pigment ink are removed before the introduction of the Lysonic dye based inks. By switching over from Pigment to Lysonic inks the Screen Printer can benefit from :-
- A massive saving on the cost of ink
- Produce Screen Positives to a much higher quality
- Replace expensive Dry Film for Wet Film.
