Daylight Darkroom Software
In the Daylight Darkroom system, a specially developed software package is used in place of the standard Epson print driver on the user's host computer- giving the user complete control over every ink channel on the printer to provide absolute continuous tone printing. The way that the driver and ink system work in conjunction with each other means that the printer is using a minimum of four shades of black and maximum of seven shades of black at any one time during printing. Daylight Darkroom software has two distinct but linked modules: Print Pro™ and Profile Creator™.Print Pro
Print Pro provides all the normal features of a standard print driver with a few extras including image sizing, image rotation, Image positioning, centering and a print preview screen. All popular file formats are accepted by Print Pro and it comes with neutral, cool and warm profiles for the Daylight Darkroom inks on all Darkroom papers. Print Pro is designed to work in grey scale and it includes an automatic 16 bit grey scale conversion of color images if required. A unique function of Print Pro is that it accepts two separate profiles that can be infinitely blended together, a highly useful feature for tweaking the final look of the image.Profile Creator
Profile Creator enables a user to quickly adjust or edit a Print Pro profile, or make a new profile from scratch. Simple target print files are included that help the user set ink limits, adjust the grey scale, and linearize a profile by using a standard flatbed scanner, densitometer, or spectrophotometer. Profile creator is a very flexible and powerful tool that enables a user to exactly determine the final look of their black and white images.The Daylight Darkroom software is available for both Mac OSX or higher and Windows XP based operating systems.
